“Prior to launching Wells Maritime Inspections, I worked for a private company conducting hundreds of regulatory inspections and safety audits on a variety of vessels, including bulk break carriers, container ships, oil tankers, chemical carriers, and RO/RO’s. I provided detailed compliance reports on overall vessel condition including extensive photographic documentation of the vessel bridge, deck, galley, living quarters, and machinery spaces. I am currently an Internal Lead Auditor for ISM/ISPS/MLC , ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Internal audits.
Before moving into the private sector, I served the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for over 24 years. While in the Coast Guard, I was certified as a Pollution Investigator and a Federal On-Scene Coordinator’s Representative for oil and chemical spills. I have responded to hundreds of oil spills, ranging from hundreds of gallons to millions of gallons including the response to Hurricane Katrina and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. I was also qualified as a Marine Investigator carrying out investigations and causal analysis of vessel accidents within the maritime domain. I conducted investigations on numerous marine casualties on fishing boats, tugs and barges, and other commercial vessels.
I have an M.S. in Occupational Safety Health with a minor in Environmental Management from Columbia Southern University (2012) and over 35 years of combined experience.”
